On my daily cab ride to and from work everyday I pass these red buildings. I would wonder why somebody would paint these buildings such an ugly color. Then somebody asked me if I knew why they were painted that way. "No why?" I replied a little too excitedly.
I was told that up until 20 or so years ago the buildings were a police and interrogation station. Apparently many people met their end there. Executed or tortured to death. When the buildings were later converted into apartment buildings they were painted red to ward off any evil spirits that might be lingering.
